In your daily life, no matter how hectic - because there is always an available excuse- stop and look around you, there's always something to marvel at. I've been making an effort to turn my thoughts toward the positives, to live as fully in appreciation and gratitude as I can. I know it's easier for some than others, and it's true the amount of things to be grateful for is not evenly distributed among us, let alone properly appreciated by those who have in abundance. But regardless of life circumstances, we always have the ability to find and embrace the good. In doing so, I believe we nourish our soul, a vital ingredient for a content life. And oh, if only everyone could feel content.
What do I feel gratitude for today?
This dog, discarded by someone else, who is my loyal companion. We understand each other with barely
a word spoken. Unconditional love, nothing like it.
Gardening... nourishing to body and soul. The seeds are planted! Now, to watch them grow.
A woods walk in early Spring..
That Waterlogue App!!... I'm addicted!
Driving home from dinner the other night, I made the Mr. stop so we could admire how very still the water was along the shore. The sun was setting and everything was sooo.. .quiet. It's not often that the water appears so serene, no wind coming in off the water, no chop.
We can choose - focus on all the negative crap constantly on the radar around us, or look for the good. Both views are always right there in some form or another. Which one do you usually hone in on? And which view will you choose to embrace? ....
Make it a habit.. look for the good. Your entire being will thank you.

Inspiring post... I love it.
ReplyDeleteEvery so often when taking a picture I just turn 1/2 way around and snap whatever is there instead. Sometimes it's interesting, sometimes a surprise, sometimes it doesn't work .. lol.
Love the stillness of the waters and how you used the waterlogued app on them.

This is hilarious. Not your post, your post is awesome and positive and well said and something I should think about more than I do. What's funny is, right before stopping over here I just finished posting about how barren and awful my yard looks now that the snow has melted and then went on complaining about other stuff. There is a reason This Old House is one of, if not, the first place I visit after posting. Subconsciously I must know I need it. Have a great weekend and thank you.
ReplyDeleteI always look for the good and I enjoy each day. I am a positive person and I see something good in just about every situation. I give thanks several times a day, too. Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeletePS I love your watercolors my friend! Very nice! Hugs!
ReplyDeletesweet frazier. :)
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm going to have to get off my butt and go looking for some good! Send me some energy, will you?
ReplyDeleteThere have been time here when life was stressful beyond belief, and it was SO hard to find positive in anything. I coped by taking time at the end of every day to consciously think of something to be thankful for. Concentrating on the positive can make a huge difference in life.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to think positively for the last six weeks... a good reminder, this.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful message. Oh the sweet, sweet joy of this abundant life.
ReplyDeletei think i'm pretty good about looking for the good…but now i'm mad at mark…hello negativity…because i thought i was the first blog he goes to after posting on his own….

ReplyDeleteThere's a time and place for everything, so says the Good Book, and counting one's blessings is always good medicine. The Good Book also says the way a person thinks is who they are; some folks have never figured out happiness isn't found, we carry it with us throughout life. Karen, I want to die the day after I can no longer have a dog as a friend.
